How to Connect the DJI Mic Mini to the Osmo Action 5 ProUpdated 2 months ago

🎤 How to Connect the DJI Mic Mini to the Osmo Action 5 Pro

Each rental kit includes 2x DJI Action 5 Pro cameras and a DJI Mic Mini with two wireless microphones. When you receive your kit, both mics are already paired to Camera 1 and ready to use—no setup required.

When the mics are out of the case and connected to a camera, that camera will only record audio from the wireless mics, it will not record audio from the camera, so ensure you're using the wireless microphone to record the audio for your video. If you want to use the built-in mic on the camera, return the wireless mics to their charging case and they will disconnect.

However, if you'd like to:

  • Troubleshoot connection issues,

  • Pair both mics to Camera 2 instead of Camera 1,

  • Or assign one mic to each camera,

…this guide will walk you through the pairing process.

✅ Quick Check: Is the Mic Already Working?

  • Check the camera screen: When powered on and connected, the Osmo Action 5 Pro shows a green audio level line at the top of the screen.

  • Check the mic LED: A solid blue light on the mic means it’s linked and active.

If you're not seeing these indications, follow the pairing instructions below.

🔁 Re-Pairing or Changing Which Camera the Mics Are Connected To

Step 1: Prepare the Camera

  1. Power on the Osmo Action 5 Pro.

  2. Swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Control Menu.

  3. Tap the Settings icon (gear).

  4. Scroll and select Wireless Microphone Settings.

Step 2: Start the Pairing Process

  1. On the Wireless Microphone screen, select the channel (Transmitter 1 or 2) you want to link.

  2. The camera will enter pairing mode and display a message: “Power on DJI OsmoAudio and pair”

  1. Power on the mic, if not already on.

  2. Press and hold the Link button on the side of the mic until the LED starts flashing blue.

  3. Wait a few seconds—the camera should detect and link to the mic automatically.

👉 Once connected:

  • The mic LED turns green and then solid blue.

  • The camera will confirm the connection.

  • Repeat this process for the second mic if needed.

🎯 Examples of How You Can Use the Mics

ScenarioSetup
Default – both mics to Camera 1Already configured
🎤 1 mic per cameraPair Transmitter 1 to Camera 1, and Transmitter 2 to Camera 2
🔄 Switch all mics to Camera 2Unlink mics from Camera 1 and re-pair both to Camera 2

🛠 Troubleshooting Tips

  • Make sure the mic is fully charged.

  • If pairing fails, restart both the camera and the mic, then try again.

  • Avoid pairing both mics to both cameras at the same time—it will confuse the link.
